Charlène Bagcal is a creative director, WGA screenwriter, genre director, and photographer whose work spans film, television, fashion, and visual culture. She began her career as a fashion and portrait editorial photographer, photographing artists including Chelsea Wolfe, Allie X, and Gary Numan. Her practice evolved into directing music videos and fashion films, including contributions to Nick Knight’s SHOWstudio, before transitioning into narrative filmmaking. Her work includes projects for HBO Max, Warner Bros., Sony, and Crypt TV, with her films screening internationally across the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Turkey, and Mexico. Her work explores the intersection of atmosphere, identity, and the uncanny, constructing worlds that challenge the boundaries between the familiar and the unknown while examining underlying power dynamics.
